The author writes: —We observed that before the brain wave was activated and before stimuli altered the heart rate, blood pressure or breathing, the field had already responded. This led us to postulate that a person’s primary response in his world takes place first in the auric field, not in the sensory nerves nor in the brain. Today the measurements would of course be much more precise than back in the s, as Dean Radin reports, and errors can be as good as excluded. It was clearly shown in these experiments that the field reacted long before the stimulus was getting to the brain, let alone triggered the action response. This important experiment shows that the human brain practices pre-intellectual decision–making that is totally intuitive, and that is probably not located in the brain, because it’s pre–cognitive, but in the aura, energy field or etheric body of the person.
What answers here is thus not the brain, not the cognitive apparatus, but the field itself, the plasmatic energy at the root of all life. The next important point to consider is the relationship between the observer and the observed, that equally was extensively treated in the studies of both Dean Radin and Michael Talbot, and countless other more recent studies. But perhaps the most important research is the one done directly on the field, research that formerly was called aura research and that we now call research on the human energy field. This research is so vast today, and branches out so extensively that my guess is it will be the foremost research topic in the future. It will probably open the door to getting beyond the speed-of-light limitation and allow to build magnetic-driven spaceships, as we know them from science fiction.
Besides, the applications in daily life are so countless that I do not need to mention them here. As this book is very long and complex, I will focus here further on Chapter VI of the book entitled ‘Emotions: The Mind-Field Organizer’ because I believe this is one of the most important topics of the book. I will just list the quotes here that concern Hunt’s alternative view on emotions, which exactly coincides with my own research on emotions: —Emotions carry the essence of our unique and collective consciousness. I suggest that human emotion is the organizer of energy fields. Hunt speaks of a specific ‘personal emotional field signature’ p. I feel bad for saying this about a dead author, but the amount of smug and self-satisfied BS in this book is off the charts. There are some interesting insights in the book, but she cherry picks a lot of scientific literature to support her views. Doesn't define many terms and disparages people working in other professions.
Her own research experiments in the book are shoddy at best and were NEVER published in any peer-reviewed scientific journals trust me, I searched for them. I don't know why so many people in the "new age" movement have inflated egos and just want their 15 minutes of fame. It's truly distasteful. I'd recommend Lynne McTaggart's work instead if you're interested in consciousness and biofield research. This book is riveting. Way back in the early 60s, long before anyone else was experimenting with electro-magnetic fields in relationship with the human body, Valerie Hunt was doing very refined research at a prestigious California university in southern California that established firmly that a the body has an electro-magnetic field, b the auras that can be seen psychically are actually seeing the different fields emanating from the chakras yes, they do exist , and c if a human is cut off from the electro-magnetic field of the earth, they become incoherent.
Valerie Hunt is an amazing human being, and this book turned me into a huge fan. She is now in her late 90s and still doing well. She has her own website and her books, e-books, and DVDs are available through Malibu Publishing. This book is poorly edited. First, there are numerous grammatical mistakes. Second, Hunt often goes on rambling, disjointed discourses that are hard to make sense out of. Sometimes she throws in some technical jargon that makes it even harder to understand. To be honest, I'm not sure Dr. Hunt fully understands them. If she did have a clearer understanding, perhaps her explanations would clearer as well.
Having said all that, I still think there is valuable and important information here about the nature of the human mind and the bioenergetic field. Unfortunately, the presentation is poor, which reduces the author's credibility. However, if you are open-minded and patient you don't mind constantly re-reading , the book may well be worth it to you. Valerie Hunt is a pioneer in the field whose professional background in physical therapy, physiology and teaching curious students opened her to the exploration of consciousness, frequencies and the energetic, vibrational effect on the body. This book gives scientific explanations of mystical teachings. It informs us that our minds are THE most powerful tool in the entire universe.
and gives examples of experimental results proving said examples. The experiments in this book relates scientific discoveries with some religious and mystical teachings of the past it bridges the gap between science and religion and empowers us to improve our lives simply by taking control over our minds - our thoughts and emotions. Almost all of the text in this book is interlined with ballpoint pen. This makes it hard to read. I would not have gotten this copy if I had known. The book itself would be fine without the underlining. Excellent work by Valerie Hunt! The book has a lot of scientific information and amazing personal experience of the author.
