Variable add ons for seating, food, baggage, etc. Other than that they are as good as anyone getting you where you need to go. Flight attendants don't impress me as being as friendly as their competition.

As a senior citizen with some medical issues especially chronic low back pain, my wife, sister-in-law and I, were checking for airlines with a direct flight to Singapore. United Airlines was the only airline that flew directly, non-stop, to Singapore from San Francisco. Due to my medical condition and being claustrophobic, I bought business class so that I could take a mild sedative and sleep most of the way. We boarded our flight at SF airport on Wednesday November 30, Flight number UA 1. There was a slight delay in departure, which was not a problem. Departure time hours, arrived Singapore Friday, December 2, at hours. It was about a 17 hour flight, which was uneventful. Our return direct, non-stop, flight from Singapore to San Francisco was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. We were supposed to board our flight on Monday December 12, at hours and arrive SF on December 12 at hours, about a 14 hour flight. The evening before our flight, we printed our boarding pass at our hotel in Singapore.

A few hours after that, we received an email from United Airlines that our flight was cancelled due to mechanical problems. We were put on a Lufthansa flight and downgraded to ECONOMY FARE CLASS. To add insult to injury, the Lufthansa flight was from Singapore to Frankfurt a twelve hour flight. There was a four hour holding or waiting period at Frankfurt. Then from Frankfurt to San Francisco another twelve hour flight. NO MEALS WILL BE PROVIDED, during entire flight. Off course, this was absolutely and unequivocally unacceptable. That night, we frantically called the United Airlines number. After waiting for almost 20 minutes, a man answered and within a few minutes we got disconnected. We dialed back the same number again and waited for another 20 minutes a receptionist at the Philippines answered. She was not of much help. At that time, we were getting desperate and extremely concerned and worried.

We did not know where or who to turn to. United Airlines has one of the worse, if not the worse customer service we have ever come across. It was pass midnight and we had to go to the hotel concierge and asked them to extend our stay, till we can find an airline that had a direct flight back to SF. They were very understanding and accommodated us, although they were heavily booked. Frantically, we went on the interned to search for a representative for United Airlines. Luckily, they was one in downtown Singapore, 16 Raffles Quay We took a taxi, first thing in the morning. Their office hours says they open at hours. We were there at The United Airlines office doors were closed and no signs of activities in the office. OUR SPIRITS WERE ROCK BOTTOM. There was no one around to ask. Eventually, we saw person who seems to be janitor opened a glass door to a very small lobby, but the main office door was locked.

We knocked and there was no answer. She told us to use the United Airlines phone if we have inquiries. We called and there was a recorder at the other end. It told us to leave a message. United Airlines was obviously giving us a run around. Luckily, they had three chairs and a table at the small lobby. After about another 30 minutes, a lady appears from the elevator and walks towards the office to open the door. We at once approached her. Her name was Ms. Sharon Barcken the manager. We poured out our problems and frustration. If they could make a deal to show first team matches on it, it would be absolutely perfect! Weird issues and bugs persist across multiple versions, including not respecting orientation of the device after a video ends e. the whole UI flips to portrait even if your device is in landscape. So in order to watch the video, you end up having to go back and race the app to try and expand the video to full screen in the fraction of a second before it scrolls to the next post!

Please fix it! In this new app dat is a lil tedious as you now have to just scroll n scroll and still might not see the game dat played two weeks ago that you just in love with how United was in total control n destroy full. I thought the upgrade was gonna be more upgrading the radio streaming to video streaming. Instead streaming was totally removed nobody have time to follow the game by gluing to the screen watching the games tru words!!! other than that, great information you can usually get better information from the app than the gate agents , clean layout, etc. This app isn't intuitive to me for doing what I do and the website is much easier. I can read a map, I don't need to be tracked everywhere. I'm giving it one more try, but I think I could do all the same things without having one more frustrating app taking space on my phone. If I find that's the case this trip, it hits the dustbin. The boarding pass function is nice. The app works fine on the ground but it has absolutely never worked for me in the air for contact free food ordering, entertainment, anything.
